1 ½ oz @dobeltequila Blanco Tequila
½ oz @delmagueymezcal Mezcal
½ oz @anchoreyes Ancho Chili Liqueur
½ oz Lime Juice
½ oz Pineapple Shrub (recipe below)
What To Do
Shake all ingredients well with ice. Double strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with a lime peel or wheel.
For Shrub: Fill a mason jar with pineapple chunks. Cover with apple cider vinegar. Seal. Let it sit for at least 7 days. When done, strain into a saucepan and add 1/2 cup or so of sugar. Get it to temperature so the sugar melts. Cool. Store. Done.
A Few Words
Want to spruce up your margarita game? Give this smokey and spicy recipe a shot. This Ancho Reyes liqueur is suburb and really fun to play with. It’s a lot more versatile than you think it would be. It’s savory, not too spicy, and very well balanced. Can’t wait to use it in other cocktails. Cheers!
