The Old Wise Sage


2 oz Whiskey
¾ oz Plum Liqueur
½ oz Escubac
¼ oz Campari
4-6 Sage Leaves

What To Do

Lightly muddle 4 sage leaves with the Campari. Combine the rest of the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir. Strain into a chilled rocks glass with ice. Garnish with some sage leaves. Serve.

A Few Words

Wanted to make an herbal variation to the standard Boulevardier and this is what I came up with. Quite yummy. The sage comes through with strong citrus notes from the bitters and plum liqueur. I used a Japanese whiskey here but I believe other whiskey types would also work. Feel free to experiment! Cheers!
