Jungle Bird


1½ ounce Dark or Blackstrap Rum
¾ ounce Campari
1½ ounces Pineapple Juice
½ ounce Lime Juice
½ ounce Simple Syrup
Combine all ingredients into a shaker. Shake well with ice and strain into the chilled glass or Tiki Mug. Garnish with some pineapple leaves and a lime flag.

This cocktail is an awesome tiki joint that was developed around 1978 at the Kuala Lumpur Hilton. I got to say, I really really liked this drink. It’s a lot more complex than I thought it was going to be. Very fragrant of burnt sugar and molasses. Bitter notes but incredibly balanced. Give this one a shot as it gives you a reason to use that bottle of Blackstrap! Cheers!
