Ingredients

1 oz Aquavit
1 oz Dry Sherry
1 oz Cynar
2 Dashes Peach Bitters

What To Do

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a lemon twist. Serve.

A Few Words

This drink was created by Robert Hess, a long time cocktail enthusiast from Seattle. It’s in the Negroni family. The gin is swapped for aquavit, the Campari for Cynar, and the sweet vermouth for a dry sherry. If you don’t know, Aquavit is an awesome Scandinavian caraway spirit. I used an amontillado sherry for this as it’s my favorite type to mix with. Amontillados gives any drink a nice welcomed funk and complexity without adding too much sweetness. As a huge Negroni fan… I adored this drink. Bitter. Herbal. Fragrant. Cheers!
